Digital Media Checklist

Building the checklist first, then applying it, changed how I read an OER. The template forces me to separate three questions that are easy to blur: may I use this, can every student access it, and does it teach what my objective names. Susan Jones’s syllable-type word lists passed the license test cleanly under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial, and they sit in Orton-Gillingham order, so they support the syllable-instruction component named in CLO 1 without reworking the sequence. The honest gaps showed up in the accessibility and multimedia rows. The lists are teacher-facing text with no phoneme audio and no segmenting, so a student-facing version needs chunking and sound before it belongs in a lesson. The NonCommercial clause is the other flag: fine for my classroom, checked before any paid Sankofa use. The lesson I am keeping is that a rating scale plus a notes column beats a yes-or-no verdict. Partial with a condition is usually the true answer, and writing the condition down is what turns an evaluation into a plan.
