The unexpected beginning
Engineer by degree.
Teacher by calling.
A layoff in 2011 opened a door I didn't know I'd been waiting for. By 2013, I was a certified Social Studies teacher — and I've never looked back.
Yekepa, Nimba County · LAMCO Iron Ore Mine · Home
Born in Yekepa, Nimba.
Raised in Houston, Texas.
And in 2019 — I went back.
My father worked at LAMCO — the iron ore mine that built this town. Nearly 30 years after leaving as a refugee, I finally came home.
Monrovia, Liberia · The Capitol Pavilion
A country still healing.
A generation I came
home to serve.
Fourteen years of civil war had left a generation without education. I came back to the U.S. in July 2021 with one mission: literacy.
Prairie View A&M University
Building the foundation.
My academic journey at Prairie View A&M deepened my commitment to learning design and creating meaningful educational experiences for every learner I have the opportunity to serve.
Prairie View A&M University
From the classroom
to the design table.
PVAMU strengthened my resolve — connecting structured literacy, instructional design, and the learners who need both the most.
The mission
Every learner
deserves to read.
Today I serve as a Dyslexia and RLA Co-Teacher in Houston, working with middle schoolers who need Tier 2 and Tier 3 structured literacy support.
Science of Reading Orton-Gillingham Dyslexia Specialist
Why I'm here
Instructional design
is lesson planning —
reimagined.
Setting objectives. Differentiating for every learner. Assessing understanding. Now scaled, intentional, and powered by technology.
